The best celebrity wedding in South Carolina happened in Charleston. Actor Ryan Reynolds, 35, got hitched to actress and model Blake Lively, 25, at the Mount Pleasant plantation’s Cotton Dock. It is reported that Kelly “Kelly G” Gukanovich, from WSSX-FM’s “2 Girls and a Guy in the Morning,” was the first to break the story on Twitter. Gukanovich heard that Ryan Reynolds was in town and started perusing the grape vine. Her source says that the couple was having an intimate event on the dock of Boone Hall surrounded by white curtains.
Before, during, and after the event many people involved remained secretive about the event and its participants. Boone Hall Plantation representatives would not confirm that the wedding took place there, but did address the issue somewhat on their Facebook page, stating: “We are receiving a number of inquiries this morning. From time to time Boone Hall Plantation hosts celebrity events. We respect the privacy of the individuals involved at these events.”
The event were said to have been planned by events planner Tara Guérard of Tara Guérard Soirée in Charleston and New York. The décor and live music created an elegant charm that was reminiscent of times passed. Mini chocolate bundt cakes and s’mores bars were served to the guest, in addition to the $3,000 wedding cake. Florence Welch of Grammy nominated Florence and the Machine and Bette Midler were in attendance.
