I believe that we can all agree that there is no other day more romantic than Valentine’s Day. So if you are a romantic person, involved in a relationship characterized by romantic gestures, you should consider proposing to your sweetheart on Valentine’s Day. If you decide to propose on valentine’s days, here are some ideas to help you create the perfect mood:

5 Valentine’s Day Proposal Ideas

Recreate a first date

Let your girlfriend know that you will make the plans for this year’s Valentine’s Day. Make reservations for the same restaurant, get a tape for the car of the song that was playing on the radio, or make a picnic of the foods and wines you had that day. Don’t forget to wear a similar outfit! Create a special speech in which you say that you knew from your first date that she is your soul mate. Have the ring prepared, and get down on your knee and ask the question.

Advertising panel

If you want to make sure that your Valentine’s Day proposal is unforgettable, do it different. If you know that your girlfriend has the same route each day, think about using an advertising panel to propose. Talk to the people in charge of that advertising panel, to have the question on the screen at an established time. Make sure that your girlfriend’s name is included in the question. If you want to know the answer right away, you should offer to take her to work that day. This way you can make sure that she sees the question and you can hear the answer.

Fortune cookie

If you are a couple who loves Chinese takeout, you could use this in your advantage. Although it might sound strange to have Chinese on Valentine’s day, convince your honey that they have a special menu for this special day, and that it is best if you celebrate inside. Hide the ring and a note that say’s “Would you be my wife?” in a fortune cookie and make sure you get it delivered at your house. In the mean time, make sure that your house is decorated appropriately for a proposal: use as red roses, and hearts, and champagne, and strawberries.

Hide the ring around the house

If you’re generally not the romantic type, your honey will be suspicious if you suddenly want to go out for a fancy dinner or theater, even on Valentine’s Day. Hide the ring somewhere in the house where she usually looks during the day. Try to be there where she discovers it but make sure you are not acting suspicious. When she finds the ring, you can get down on your knees and ask the question, or you can pretend like is something casual and say something like “When do you want to let your friends know that we are engaged?”

Photo album

Assemble a photo album of pictures that chronicle your relationship from the beginning as a gift for your loved one on Valentine’s Day.  Create a romantic design, with lots of hearts and roses, and most importantly, make sure that the last page has a very special picture of the two of you with the  proposal words “Will You Marry Me?” printed below. The surprise will be instantaneous, so make sure to have the ring and a box ready. It is also nice to leave a space for the “She Said Yes!” picture you’ll put in later.
